Season 1 of The Informed Frontier podcast is coming soon! This season, we're exploring one of the most transformative forces reshaping media today: AI as a 'reader' of content, and how this fundamental shift is changing the way we access, interpret, and share information.
The rapid development of Generative AI and AI-driven automation has recast media and publishing, presenting promise and peril. In each episode, we look at the philosophical considerations and practical consequences of this disruption, focusing on scientific and scholarly content.
This October, I'll be participating in a panel called "AI as Reader, Author, and Reviewer: Risks, Rewards, and Real-World Use" at the Society for Scholarly Publishing New Directions Seminar. A few years ago, when I gave a keynote at SSP on AI in scholarly publishing, I spoke with folks across the AI space to prepare my remarks. This year, I thought it would be fun to make those preparations public—recording these conversations as podcast episodes so more people can benefit from these important discussions.
You can find the season here or wherever you get your podcasts. Stay tuned for more details...
